Problem: In a company producing plastic tubes for the manufacture of window frames needed to eliminate generated high electrostatic charge at cutting and sliding profile on the production line. This electrostatic charge was sticking sawdust on the surface of the plastic profile, which caused bumps a bulges in the subsequent bonding of the decorative foil. In terms of the quality and aesthetics all of those deviations had to be removed, which caused the excess waste material and frequent stopping production lines. Production process had almost 25% losses.
Solution: Installation of anti-static ionisation bar above the conveyor belt of extruded and shredded profile, before the bonding the decorative foil.
Used product: Anti-static ionising bar type 1250 AIRBOOST Fraser Anti-Static Techniques.
The resulting benefits: We achieved a flawless dust-free plastic profile by the simultaneous action of emission of ions from the bar and its integrated blower equipment. We reduced production of poor quality products and 25% of the losses associated with the removal of the quality deviations. We also helped to prevent frequent shutdowns of production lines.
Method of implementation: Our sales representative prepared a project based on the requirements by our customer and made testing of product directly in the production process. Our customer was very satisfied with the result, ordered anti-static ionising bars and our sales representative installed and put them into operation.
